It's almost funny. Almost. Last night, or early morning to be precise, I checked the status page of Livejournal and they said everything is working fine; I told someone on my flist I wouldn't believe it until it was still there some hours later. Well, it's gone again, at least for me. Error messages all the way.:|

Are you ever going to come back? Right now it doesn't look like it. I may not miss you all that much - sorry - but I'm going to miss the people (why do we have no contact outside of LJ??) and the shiny communities. In fact, I can't imagine how I'd live without them. So, please come back soon.

An entry about the Placebo gig will follow (I think). Right now I'm just upset. The city is making my parents' car "illegal", so to speak. You're not allowed to drive it anymore. I love that car and I want it. *clings to car* It's going to be an oldtimer in five years... It's sad. It's going to be ridiculously expensive paying the garage and the car that you don't drive. I think I might need a job now...I mean, I want that thing, right, I guess I need to pay for it...Only I admit I wanted to drive it, too. Not just have it. Oh well...

I have a lot to do. Therefore I'm bored. Therefore you get a nonsense entry...

When did Mark Hamill collectibles become so ridiculously expensive? Of course, what cost me a lot of money (all issues of "The Black Pearl" and the Star Insider magazine) is cheaper these days. Not so my VHS collection. Yay for that. Yes, you're probably either thinking "Who?" or "I wouldn't pay money for anything that has to do with Mark Hamill".:p But I love that guy. I really want this photo which is on sale on eBay now. Only, I can't afford it...:/

Some weeks ago I was happily losing a couple of brain cells watching "The Fly II". Until my mother showed up, declared it was crap and switched the channel. Parents. You can't watch what you want in your own home.:) I really don't know what her problem was. There's Eric Stoltz in it! Eric Stoltz!!! I'll watch (almost) any crap for him. Because I think he's illegally handsome and very talented. Eric Stoltz in "Some Kind of Wonderful" makes you...whimper.LOL (yes that's just me, therapy, remember?) Besides, luckily, he's also a fine person.

I had a hard time deciding on a picture. I suddenly needed to have an Eric Stoltz folder because all the GeoCities sites are closing.:/ Maybe I need to make an Eric picspam at some point. With a filter, to spare you and only I can see it. Hah!

Though I knew better, I watched "Superman Returns". I thought it was...not good. Will Bryan Singer ever make good movies again? Brandon Routh looked too young and his (whether it was deliberate or not) efforts to imitate Christopher Reeve's mannerisms were irritating. Kate Bosworth as Lois? No. Why did there have to be a kid? Maybe I'm just too old. I watched the first two "Superman" movies with Christopher Reeve until I knew them by heart (commercial breaks and all) as a kid and maybe that means I cannot be objective. I recently saw Christopher Reeve's daughter on...CNN? *shrugs* She has the same nose and eyes as her father. And his smile. I miss that smile. And I miss him.

"The Eagle has landed"

It's the 40th anniversary of the moon landing mission of Apollo 11. On 20 July 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first to set foot on the moon.

I know it tends to be a very controversial topic, but I'm secretly fascinated with the exploration of space.
Obviously I wasn't around when the first moon landing took place. My mother told me about being woken up very early in the morning as a kid to watch the event on television, along with people all around the world. I believe it was something that united us, if only a little for this short moment.

Of course, NASA celebrates the anniversary, and here are some good pictures.

I watched October Sky on July 16 (when Apollo 11 started 40 years ago) and followed the virtual mission on We Choose The Moon. I think it's fun and kind of exciting. I know, I'm weird.:)
Tonight I'm going to watch The Dish. Which is an amazing film, you should watch it if you haven't yet. Check out my The Dish fanlisting.;) And here's my Parkes Radiotelescope pin.
